Buying a house or drawing up a will isn’t something most people do every day — and notarial documents come loaded with terms most people have never heard of. To tackle this, the Koninklijke Notariële Beroepsorganisatie (KNB) launched the “Vertaalmachine” (Translation Machine): a tool where you type in a notarial term and get it translated into plain, everyday language.

We created a video campaign to promote the launch, translating a series of notarial terms through visual jokes — almost like a rebus — turning dry legal language into something playful and immediately understandable.
